Dr Bassam graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Baghdad in 2003. Only 3 years later he completed a Graduate Diploma in Community Oral Health and Epidemiology from the University of Sydney, Australia. In 2007 he completed his ADC examinations and commenced work as a dentist in Queensland. He later moved to Victoria where he worked in Geelong from 2008, before opening Roxburgh Park Dental Clinic in 2013.
In addition to running his busy practice, Dr Bassam volunteers a lot of his time in community and leadership activities. His qualifications in community oral health and his passion for promoting good oral health practices have led him to participate in many school and community oral health promotion events.
Dr Bassam is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), previous member of the International Positive Psychology Association and the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics and Training (AADFA). His main interests include wisdom tooth removal and dental implants and he is known for offering gentle, painless treatment.
In addition to his dental qualifications, Dr Bassam has several qualifications in Life and Business Coaching.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoys rowing, cycling and reading. People who know him describe him and being caring, honest and approachable.
